Here are our new favorite looks in summer 2022!
With everything going virtual, a lot of us have started looking again at what’s new in style and beauty trends of last year. In this blog, we’re sharing the latest trend we’re loving right now (and will be adding to the mix in January). So get ready for that holiday sale or your next dinner date with your friends to discover great pieces that might make it easier to see you through all of these unprecedented times. From colorful athleisure looks to comfortable-fit loungewear and minimalist accessories to statement dresses, there’s no shortage of options when it comes to styling yourself and boosting self-confidence. Whether you’ve been dressing up as much as ever since the pandemic began, or you’re simply wondering what kinds of outfits you can wear during different seasons, here’s where to start.
1. Highlight Your Favorite Colors
Bright colors aren’t just limited to spring. With shades ranging between neutrals like black or white and vibrant hues such as reds, greens, and yellows—it’s easy to find a color that best complements the mood of a given time. For instance, if you want to turn heads, pair bright clothes with bold patterns such as florals, ruffles, stripes, or other prints that instantly draw attention. Or feel free to go lighter and dress more comfortably by pairing your outfit with lightweight tops, loose fitting pants, or simple tops and bottoms. Whatever you choose to do—dress for the occasion instead of trying to fit into something you don’t like. It’ll be fun to show off your versatility as well as boost confidence levels.
The key to mixing different tones together is using flattering fabrics such as denim, polyester, cashmere, and chambray. Also, try layering your base colors, like tights and skirts, to complement your top colors. You can also layer different items in several different ways including layering tops underneath a blazer and jeans, or layering shirts and leggings layered over shorts and tank tops. To add a pop of color, opt for printed versions of an item to contrast against one another. Use contrasting colors to break your monotony by combining them with neutral shades, like navy blue and gray with lighter and darker hues. A bright yellow blouse paired with white slacks and sandals would look so good, but how about a dark wash over it? When putting those layers into action, keep things casual and comfortable, especially if they’re still quite warm around the shoulders. If you are wearing shoes, avoid heels because wearing bare feet will only leave you feeling rough around the edges.
2. Create Cute Stylish
Wearing the same color combo repeatedly isn’t exactly a bad thing. But, once the novelty wears off, you can try new combinations to spice things up. Some examples include matching separates or coordinating tops with trousers or a sleeveless T-shirt underneath a fitted shirt. If you are wearing a cardigan sweater over a longline skirt, give it some added pizzazz by giving the bottom some oomph with a bold print or pattern. And remember to ditch bulky accessories, as too many pieces may cause you to look ‘unprofessional. This should help to enhance any polished look you already have.
For even better results in a couple days, try pairing a short maxi dress with tailored shorts of the same fabric and a buttoned blazer. The contrast will bring out the feminine side of your curves, making you look like a real girl—and even if you do end up being unprofessional anyway. Another option is pairing high waisted jeans with light knit tops with a graphic tee and a plain white coat. Finally, a cute leather jacket with a small waistband paired with a slim blouse and light boots will make anyone else feel pretty good, too.
3. Embrace Bright Clothing Trends
As much as anything else about winter needs changing, nothing suits the current weather than dull brown and heavy knitwear. Instead, opt for a few bright garments for each season to make sure your wardrobe reflects the way people are living their lives now. Winter is all about comfort while most of us live in the warm comfort of winter. As such, bright hues are an absolute must-have to bring some joy to life during snowy days. Think burgundy and pink, green and orange, or even teal, blue, khaki, olive, and other earthy blues. Even if we can’t take advantage of sunny weather in spring or the warmer temperatures of fall during winter—just wear a polka dot dress and pair your sunglasses with a pair of gloves! We promise, you won’t regret it.
We say, buy it when you can, sell it when you need it—don’t wait until spring and fall to embrace bright clothing trends—you’ll want to be ahead of their curve when it comes down to styles in your closet.
4. Don’t Be Afraid to Wear Comfort-Fitting Items
Comfort is a big deal for everyone, and you probably know your body type perfectly. However, finding a dress that works for everything from curvy women who want to squeeze into skinny jeans for extra space, to plus-size ladies wanting the freedom to dress down, has its benefits. If you want to stay stylish all the way through winter—and beyond—you have plenty of choices that you can consider. Stretchy dresses such as stretchable co-ords and shapewear are excellent alternatives for cold winters. They can be worn at night, even though you’re not covered completely in insulation, and when outside or on hot days, thanks to their breathability. Keep in mind that while it’s true that comfy pieces come in various shapes and sizes, if you’re worried about sizing, we suggest buying a size that fits you perfectly. Once you have found the perfect piece, follow these tips to ensure every inch fit perfectly.
5. Find Comfortable Outfits That Are Easy Underwear Pieces
It’s hard to believe that winter was even a thing in Europe before World War I. Back then, men were forced to wear socks on their legs, and skirts to cover the whole leg from calves to ankles were standard attire, whereas jeans were always reserved for working class men. Nowadays, however, we can safely assume that women in Europe and North America have figured out how to combine convenience and practicality in both outdoor and indoor settings and this creates amazing opportunities for fashion. Women have created incredible underwear pieces as well; while most of them are extremely comfortable, others can provide maximum protection and support. These pieces often incorporate micro-flaps or elastic panels to protect the wearer from slips and falls, as well as quick drying technology to prevent drying on sweaty skin. While most people think of waterproof panties as used solely for swimming or pool travel, they actually come under the category of outerwear. Most brands sell designs that feature built-in mesh pockets so you don’t have to worry about losing anything important. Waterproof pantyliners have been popularized over the years. Many brands offer models with detachable water-proof pouches that you can easily switch depending on the weather and conditions. One trick to getting the most bang for your buck is choosing durable materials and fabrics. While cotton fiber tends to fade quickly, wool, silk, lycra and nylon tend to dry slower and are less prone to fading or damage. Other common picks include spandex, merino, alpaca, jacquard, viscose, microfiber and more. If you’re shopping for a new pair of jeans, pick ones that are made from soft, thick material that wicks away moisture quickly as well as ones that are made out of premium quality materials. Paired with a wide variety of styles in trendy silhouettes, you’ll find that finding the best garment for everyday wear in the colder months of winter is much easier now than it did previously.
6. Mix Up Your Casual Style
As we mentioned, wearing a single outfit can leave one feeling flat and lacking inspiration for a future outfit choice. What if you could change it up every single day? Well, that’s exactly what we’re hoping some companies will introduce. First-of-their-kind techwear company, Onfit, is developing adaptive performance apparel which offers users the opportunity to alter their appearance in multiple ways and can quickly adapt to their surroundings. If you spend hours scrolling through Instagram and Facebook as well as checking out Tik Tok and YouTube videos, chances are you’re familiar with seeing influencers wearing similar types of clothing but they never felt comfortable. Our goal was to create smart clothing which gives people the freedom to change things up daily regardless of what they wore two weeks ago. This means incorporating features like wireless charging, sensor-driven temperature zones, hydration cups, and voice commands as well as seamless customization. Imagine having the ability to easily access information such as heart rate, calorie intake, sleep quality, stress levels, steps taken, and heart rate variability while also helping you customize your outfit with colors and texture; as well as customizing the garment. All of these functionalities allow clothing manufacturers to innovate products that enhance fitness and wellness.
